Sleepless in Montreal

I'm 99% sure that we're done having kids. Yes, I would love to have a girl...I am too much of a girly-girl to NOT be drawn to pink tutus and doing pigtails. BUT...I HATE sleepless nights. Devin nurses every 1 1/2 to 2 hours ALL. NIGHT. LONG. He sleeps longer stretches during the day (Murphy's Law right?) - sometimes over 3 hours. However it seems he's a night owl like his older brother (who's bedtime lately is averaging 10:30pm) and his father (who's bedtime is always hours later than mine).

This is my only real complaint about babies. If someone invented a safe "baby-sleeping-serum", I would totally endure being pregnant again, endure an all-natural labour again, endure being spit up on, endure changing a million dirty diapers...even endure the screaming crying. BUT I WANT TO SLEEP 4 CONSECUTIVE HOURS, IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?!?

P.S. As I type this, Devin is fast asleep in his carseat...and looks like an angel.

what I can say darling sister...
Edouard still comes into my bed in the middle of the night... he pretends to fall asleep quickly so I don't have the heart to send him back. But I don't end up sleeping well since I'm squished between him and Christian! Oh well... one day I will get a day off (according to my kids, I'll get it when they don't have anymore homework, playdates or sports practices) :)

How come I missed this post all weekend? Sister, you sound like me about one year ago. See it gets better because I finally am getting more sleep. About 1 1/2 years old you can have more rest, OK? Only about 15 1/2 more months to go. haha I'm not helping at all, am I? Love you Sis!

The first 3 months totally suck Joyce. And having to just function after giving birth is rough. You're sore and tired, trying to adjust to a new baby schedule, AND dealing with a toddler! I'm surprised you don't have coffee on intravenous. I'm amazed by you.

Hang on, it'll get better with time.

Oh and like Susan said, they do tend to sneak into bed once they are older. We have a little bugger that sneaks in early in the morning when we are too tired to notice or care. He shoves his cold hands and feet (cold because he continually kicks off his blanket) on my warm sleepy body to warm up. You'd think I'd be use to it by now, but it is always quite jarring when you're not expecting it.
