he's home

this post has been on my mind since i read it.
it continually pops back in my mind.
i don't know why.
i just can't imagine giving someone up for adoption at 18 months old.
moreso, i can't imagine being given up for adoption at 18 months old.

i stumbled aross this blog by fluke. i think i was actually googling "dining room banquette". weird how one thing leads to another.

weird how a complete stranger's story has haunted me since i read it.

i'm happy he's home.

smooch!

Hudson and Emma...
sitting in a tree...
K-i-s-s-i-n-g.
first comes love...
then comes marriage...
then comes baby in a baby carriage.

Hudson experienced his first kiss on the lips (from a non-family member) today. AND it was from the girl of his dreams...Emma!

He's learning early that girls are complicated. Sometimes Emma likes him (like today). Sometimes he says she doesn't want to play with him. She's already got the game figured out...play hard to get to keep 'em interested. It's working.

While we're talking about kissing...Hudson has melted our hearts lately with an expression he made up all by himself. After we kiss him, he'll lick his lips and say "I licked your kiss, so it goes all the way down to my heart" (and just so you get the full cuteness...he pronounces "heart" with a little bit of a Boston(?) accent - "hot").

And then we have Devin's kisses...kissing him is a little like playing Russian Roulette. Sometimes they are sweet, sometimes they are downright dangerous...and you just never know what kind it'll be until it's too late. He's a biter. Those 4 little teeth have made me cry out in pain. Which only makes the little Bugger smile a little bigger.

Now go kiss (or surprise/trick them with a bite instead) someone you love, and then lick it all the way down to your hawt.

This impressive feat (he just turned 11 months!) reminds me that I have JOY in my crazy life.

My New Years resolution: complain less, regret less, and find joy in my life everyday.
