Pregnancy Perks

We went to Ikea last night...and once again the parking lot was packed. Rob made a comment about how no matter what day or what time we go to Ikea, it's always super busy. Anyway, after circling around, looking for parking, I remembered the "Expectant Mother" parking spaces...and sure enough...right in front of the store...was a free parking space for preggos like me!!! Fun! Just one of a few pregnancy perks I have noticed so far. People generally tend to be nicer...making it a point to hold open doors, let me board the bus first (although some people still push past me to ensure they get a seat first, can you believe it?), smile when they walk by, offer to pick up things that I've dropped, etc. etc. And best of all...I haven't vaccuumed in months...!!! Milking it while I can...

Fun. What did you guys get from IKEA? I wanted to buy tons of stuff when I went to one in Toronto but figured it would be too hard to carry back with us :(. So you're milking it for all it's worth.....No surprise there! Love ya. (Call me...I've been weirdly stressed these days)

I can't tell you how envious I am that you actually get to take one of those parking stalls. Safeway now has "reserved" stalls for "senior citizens." It's getting comical trying to find a place to park there since they have spots reserved for handicap, expectant mothers, mothers with kids, Starbucks coffee drinkers and now senior citizens. Ya, Starbucks....very odd...next they'll have one for people who eat KFC...

I lovee those parking spots, but i love them MORE now! So nice to actaully park closer. I noticed people would even stop so I could cross the street.

I use those spots all the time..........don't know why someone thinks that having a child makes you special enough to merit a special parking spot.....so I take them if I see them empty. One should not feel guilty parking there, nor can you be ticketed if you are not pregnant or have small children. Just a word of advice for all of us that do not feel it necessary to bring another being into a world filled with poverty and despair.
