Rob's worst nightmare...

**UPDATE: That white frame was a whopping $2.00!!! I am debating whether to put a blackboard in the center, a corkboard, or pretty fabric and ribbon with pushpins. Thoughts?

I woke up early. Slathered Hudson with some sunscreen. Armed him with a sippy cup and some goldfish crackers. And headed out to scope out our neighbourhood garage sale.

I bought:

2 big black frames with cream mats

1 pretty white framed mirror (which is broken, but I plan to use the frame only anyway)

2 glass table lamps

1 crystal vase

1 spice rack (love the little drawers...don't think I'll really use it for spices though)

1 funky Christmas ornament (LOVE it)

1 dual condiment serving dish

4 children books (Robert Munsch, Sesame Street and Barney)

1 wooden puzzle (minus one piece, of course that Hudson keeps looking for...he can't let it go!)

And the grand total...

$19.50!!!

The only reason I stopped was because there wasn't anymore room in the stroller!

(seriously...this is Rob's worst nightmare. other people's junk is so NOT his treasures)

Haha! I love it! I'm kinda with Rob, I can't get the thought of other people touching stuff. But sometimes I can get by that if it can we washed or if it's a smokin' deal!!

Garage sales are like the coming of the Messiah in Alberta....you'd think people were giving away gold the way others "swarm" towards the sale. I seriously make so much $$$ at garage sales that I can take a nice vacation after. Like one time $1100.00 and another $950.00, all off stuff that I thought was "junk".

Why don't you come "browse" at our home - I have LOTS of junk!
p.s. I have a basement filled with toys for Hudson that I'm planning to "dump" I mean give you as soon as you have your own place!
p.p.s. I've got tons of beautiful kids books, if anyone's interested!!

Great finds Joyce! Love the mirror and the spice rack. Yeah, I'd use the drawers for my many doodads.

I would put a blackboard, I CANNOT live without one! I LOVE the lamps! Good score Sister-in-law!

Love the pics of the big man, he always looks so grown-up (sigh) reminds me how fast time goes by. Miss you all.

When I think nothing can cheer me up, I read your blogs and a small smile slowly creeps up onto my face. Your writing (so sharp yet soft)is just one of the many beautiful talents you have... now we add GARAGE SALEING!!!
