at last...

It's almost 6pm. And this is the first moment of the day I have to myself. It was one of those days where I would've hid from the windows and pretended I wasn't home if someone rang the doorbell. It was one of those days where not only was I wearing pajamas until 5pm, I was wearing pajamas that the tops and bottoms not only didn't MATCH, but CLASHED horribly in color and patterns. My hair was pulled back in a greasy ponytail, and my face was makeupless. My kitchen floor had a wire whisk, a pastry cutter, and rubber bath toys strewn about (courtesy of Hudson's imagination). It was a day where Hudson DID NOT WANT TO SLEEP FOR LONGER THAN 10 MINUTES!!! He wasn't even particularly fussy...he just wasn't tired. It was one of those days where I counted down the minutes until Rob was coming home from work mere moments after he left in the morning. It was one of those days where the lunch I made was inedible...even Hudson didn't eat more than two bites. It was one of those days where I wished Hudson could eat BBQ potato chips for lunch like I was eating. It was one of those days where I wondered...not necessarily proud, but nor necessarily dissapointed...just matter of factly "wondered" how I became a Stay at Home Mom.

Sometimes I just miss having no responsibility.

But then I sneak up and see this...

and it's a good day again.

** although seeing as Hudson is sleeping so soundly this late in the evening probably means that he'll be staying up way later than his usual bedtime tonight...huh...could be trouble...**

That's adorable! Even though you were probably the one who needed a nap most. Oh man.

Joyce, I hear you. The older he gets I swear it will become easier. I wish I lived closer so I could come over and share the BBQ chips with you for lunch while the girls could entertain Hudson for a while. :)
